A new feature in the Samsung One UI 9 update based on Android 17
While Samsung has yet
to widely release One UI 8.5, work on One UI 9 appears to be progressing in
parallel. A leak has surfaced online hinting at a new software feature for the
upcoming custom interface based on Android 17.
One UI 8.5
is currently in beta testing and is available for the Galaxy S25 series. The
stable version is expected to debut with the Galaxy S26 series and be rolled
out later to compatible devices. Now, a new leak has emerged regarding the next
major update: One UI 9.
A notable leaked
feature is Ask AI, which allows users to ask questions about the currently open
webpage without having to manually copy text into the chat interface. The
source suggests that the feature analyzes the page content as well as browsing
history to provide personalized answers to user queries. It also gives users
the option to store conversations for up to six months or not store them after
the current session.
Currently, there is
no concrete release date for the One UI 9. However, it may launch alongside the
successors to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, currently available for $1,649 on Amazon,
and the Z Flip 7, both expected to be released in September. In separate news,
the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 have received regulatory approval, suggesting an
imminent launch.
